Event Overview

You are invited to an exclusive gravel event hosted by Unbound Velo for Wilson Asset Management. This private event promises a day of adventure, camaraderie, and stunning landscapes, all culminating in a delicious lunch at the Wisemans Ferry Hotel.

Mental Wheels Foundation: $50 from every ticket sold will go to the Mental WHeels Foundation. An amazing organisation that raises money for Mental Health Research and Programs that you will hear more about on the day.

Schedule

Bike Drop-off:

• Option 1: Drop off your bike on Friday, prior to the event.
• Option 2: Take your own bike and meet us at the Wisemans Ferry Hotel carpark

Event Day:

• 6:30 AM: Meet at the Cafe Racer Clubhouse for bike drop and a pre-event coffee.
• 7:00 AM: Departure from the Clubhouse to the start/finish location.
• 8:30 AM: Option to meet directly at the Wisemans Ferry Hotel for the ride departure.
• 9:00 AM: Ride departs from Wiseman's Ferry Hotel.

Ride Experience

Our expertly led ride will take you through a scenic 60km route, featuring a mix of 60% gravel and 40% paved roads. With 1000m of climbing, this ride offers a rewarding challenge for all participants. The climb comes in the first half of the ride and then the rest is down hill and fun undulating flat roads!

• Fully supported ride with a follow vehicle, mechanic, and spare parts.
• Hire bike options are available.

The Ride - In More detail

We depart the Wisemans Inn and very shortly after its across the river on the barge. Then its into the days only climb! Old North Rd ... Its a ripper of a climb but we will take it easy and get everyone to the top of the 2.9km 6.3% bitey gravel track. With a re-group some high 5s and the questions answered of how many more hills answered we have 16km of undulating gravel, with epic scenery. The decent is steep and we will cater for all skill levels. its 2.5km at an average of -8.8% we will descend safely with very large smiles on our face. Its mostly flat along the river to St Albans for a coffee stop before crossing and then following the river back to Wisemans. 

Post-Ride

After the ride, enjoy a well-deserved lunch at the Wiseman's Ferry Hotel, where you can relax and recount the day’s adventures with fellow riders.

Transportation

A bus will be available to transport riders and their bikes to and from the start/finish location at Wisemans Ferry Hotel. Alternatively, riders can choose to meet directly at the Wisemans Ferry Hotel at 8:30 AM.

Post Ride Lunch

Once the ride is completed we have booked a table at the Wisemans Inn. Established in 1827 The Wisemans Inn Hotel still retains all the charm and heritage of its time. They  offer excellent food and a wonderful array of ice cold beers and fine wines.

History of Wisemans Ferry

Nestled along the Hawkesbury River, Wisemans Ferry is a charming village rich in history and natural beauty. Established in 1827 by Solomon Wiseman, a former convict turned businessman, the area has been a pivotal crossing point along the river. The ferry service, which dates back to the early 19th century, is one of the oldest in Australia and remains a vital link for the community. Surrounded by lush national parks and historical sites, Wisemans Ferry offers a picturesque setting perfect for a cycling adventure.

How to Join

1. Choose your option:  Choose your transport option below and purchase your ticket
2. Do you require a Hire Bike:  If you would like to Hire one of our exquisit Gravel Hire Bikes Contact us - Limited Number Available 
3. Drop off your bike: Choose between Friday drop-off or morning drop-off at the Cafe Racer Clubhouse.
4. Arrive on Event Day: Join us for a pre-ride coffee, then hop on the bus or meet at the Wisemans Ferry Hotel for the ride departure.
