The job of a good MC isn't to become the event.

LIVE FUNDRAISING AUCTIONS

TURNING A ROOM INTO A RACE.

This is where things can get particularly fun.

Vaughan has hosted live fundraising auctions across cycling, charity and hospitality events, including events within the Australian wine and sommelier community.

Rather than simply calling numbers, Vaughan works the room, creates competition between bidders and builds momentum around the cause.

At cycling events, that can even mean turning the auction into something resembling the final kilometres of a bike race.

The objective is simple:

Make it entertaining. Keep people bidding. Raise as much money as possible.

Vaughan McVilly is the founder of Cafe Racer Alliance and has spent more than 30 years across cycling, business development, sales, brand building and events.

A lifelong cyclist and long-time member of the Australian cycling industry, Vaughan has commentated racing, hosted events and functions, interviewed athletes and industry personalities, and conducted live fundraising auctions across cycling, charity, wine and hospitality events.

His approach is simple:
