Tuesday Night Heffron Opens with Heat

Last night, the tarmac at Tuesday Night Heffron sizzled with round-one energy — and Team Hydraplay x CIOVITA rolled in with fresh kit, fresh tyres, new fast lids and fire in the legs. It was our first hit-out of the season at this beloved Easts Cycling Club institution, and wow… did it deliver the spice.

Full Gas in Every Grade

Up front in A‑grade, our elite duo Big George the Latvian and Nico Love took on their first-ever top-tier TNH race. Welcome to the pain cave, boys — and kudos for hanging tough in a savage opener lots of learnings and lots of watts chucked down!

In the B‑grade squad — Robbie Allen, Ashley Bennett‑Freeman, Pommy Rob Crichton, Alan Smith, and Ian Morrison — fought a brutally hard chase. It was a night where every pedal stroke counted, and the bunch was throwing hammers. They dominatedthe front along with CIOVITA repping Rhys Nolan to try and keep the chasing A-Graders at bay however with a few less of the usual hitter in there from some other teams it was a long slog in the Heffron sauna.

But the highlight reel? That belongs to Matty Connor in C‑grade. He didn’t take the win, but he played a huge role in helping the C bunch stay clear of the charging B and A grades — a rare and impressive feat in Heffron’s handicap chaos. Matty was doing monster turns, shutting down breaks, and rolled in somewhere top-five-ish. Huge ride. Team player. Quiet storm.

Also a huge shout out to Lucy Allen ... yep thats an Allen! We had no less than 6 Allens on the start line and Lucy rocket home after a great lead out from her dad to get first femme and a top ten finish amongst all the boys!

The Kit, the Grip, the lid, the Fuel

The Vibe

No podiums for Team Hydraplay CIOVITA this week, but the effort was stellar across all grades. C-grade held off the field. A‑grade got blooded. B‑grade battled deep. The season's officially ON — and the CIOVITA era has begun.

Oh and the VIbe, on the hill we had the CIOVITA tent set up with some sun chairs and an esky full of refreshments... thanks to the lads who weren't racing for coming and making the hill top vibes real. The Hydraplay Pimple cvan now ad CIOVITA Cheer spot to it name!

Last but certainly not least was out Team principle the Big Vee, not only directing the team but also doing commetary, from the HILL!!! Screaming into his ohone with lines like "If C-Grade don't get their Shit together A grade are going to gobble them up for Breakfast lunch and tea" and "Matty Conner is pulling like a freight train on Av Gas" - The hill is where its at on Tuesday Nights.
